19 of the Russian's 21 championships have been achieved on hardcourt
A comeback Daniil Medvedev claimed his first title for 882 days with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has endured a torrid year, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the US Open.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in particular - caused him exiting of the top ten and finally parting ways with long-term trainer his previous coach.
Now training with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought three-set victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's initial trophy following the Rome competition and first on a hard court after March of the previous year.
Success also signifies the Russian has secured twenty-one titles at 21 various events.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my both daughters together, so to win a trophy is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional the champion.
"This title is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the first title I got when my child her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six finals, featuring in the German tournament earlier this year.
Medvedev's retrieving approach and regular reactions on court had led some to question if his skill to compete at the highest level was concluded.
However the player has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to approach the net and play assertively, reinforced by an better service.
Medvedev recovered from a break down in the initial set against the tricky Moutet, winning four of the last five games to take the lead.
The competitors swapped break points in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his initial ATP Tour victory, took control to create a decider.
Moutet saved 4 early break points in a close deciding set before the Russian broke to 15 to close out the victory.
Fittingly, he secured victory with a point at the front of the court, with the Frenchman unable to control a return after a lengthy match.
